How to freshly install Mac OS X Mavericks

I got screwed by Apple the first time in my life with a factory installed Mac and an Apple telephone support. It was also the first time using internet to install a Mac OS went really bad. That wasted me a whole day of phone calls, 3 times internet download, reboot after reboots. (my poor Mac, a late 2013 MBP 13")

First of all, I installed an App called Boom because I want to custom equalize the sound from Youtube. It all happens when I tried to uninstall it. The reboot wasn't successful and it hung.

I also have a bluetooth & Wifi problem. I will almost run into problem every time when it went to sleep or a reboot. The bluetooth and wifi crash together thus I won't have a working wifi. I either have to disable bluetooth first then enable wifi. Or I have to reboot my AP (I don't know why reboot wifi works if it is a problem with my Mac). This is really annoying and it doesn't happen on my other Macs. The Apple telephone support told me it shouldn't happen that way, he said there must be something wrong.

With the above 2 things added together I assume that my factory Mavericks is screwed from factory. My poorly assumption is based on if Boom is App Store qualified app then it should be a working app. Don't bash me for this... :p

My Mac will have a "Install Failed: OS X could not be installed on your computer. OS X can't be installed on the disk because a recovery system can't be created. Visit www.apple.com/support/no-recovery to learn more" message when I tried to install Maverick from internet.

I then decided not to listen to apple support any more and google. After searching for a while I found 2 documents really useful. One is to build a bootable Maverick on a USB thumb disk. The other one is to build a recovery disk also on a USB thumb disk. So you will need 2 USB thumb disks to get out of this problem. One is a 8GB for Maverick and a 4GB for the recovery disk.

Here I summarize down (all rights belong to their original creators)

Part 1:
1) Download Mavericks from the Mac App Store but do not click install. If you install then after it upgrades your machine the installer will be automatically deleted.
2) Insert a USB flash drive and use Disk Utility to format it, name it ‘Untitled’. The installer takes over 4GB so you’ll need at least an 8GB drive.
3) Open terminal and run the following command… sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
4) You’ll see some output in Terminal letting you know it’s copying files. When that’s done your USB will be ready with the bootable installer.

Part 2 Download the OS X Recovery Disk Assistant from your Mac running OS X Mavericks. At the bottom under Additional Information is the link to download the Assistant app.
Have a formated USB thumb drive available. Formated as Mac OS X Extended-Journaled with the GUID partition table. You only need 1GB so a 4GB thumb drive would work great.
Run the Recovery Disk Assistant and point to your USB thumb drive. This will create a Mavericks Recovery HD onto the thumb drive from the Recovery HD on your Mac running Mavericks.
Boot your Mac with SL from the USB thumb drive.
Launch Disk Utility and delete all partitions on the SL drive. Add a single partition formated as Mac OS X Extended-Journaled with the GUID partition table.
Close Disk Utility and at the OS X Utilities Menu, select the Reinstall OS X which should be for Mavericks. This will download OS X Mavericks from Apple (just like the App Store). You should see a logo with an X to the left of the Reinstall OS X selection.
Since you prepared the disk and would be installing OS X Mavericks outside of the Mac's hard drive (via USB thumb drive), it should install without issue. And you shouldn't need any AppleID as OS X Mavericks is free. https://discussions.apple.com/message/25039375#25039375

偷學e-MA車隊大隊長之新手教學

A.車齡未滿一年的人:
1.無論你是否有晨騎習慣,每週累積騎乘里乘數至少150公里
千萬不要只在週六和週日各騎75公里,這樣效果不好.
最好是一三五20~30公里,週六60~80公里,週日休息陪陪家人.

2.無論平路或爬坡前面都用39的小盤來騎車,重點在於練習迴轉數,剛開始練習試
控制在90~100rpm之間.
想要成為優秀的騎者練習迴轉是一門必修的課程,此時53的大盤對你們的幫助不
大,因為你們的肌力還不夠強,就算用了練習的效果也不大.

check point :
a.利用輕踩迴轉時檢查膝蓋上提時,是否會外翻的現象,就是一般所說的腳開開.
原則上膝蓋上提時,要隱約好像要碰到車架上管,但實際上又不會碰到才對.
b.當轉速到達110~120時看看屁股是否會上下震動,如果會代表你踩踏的不夠
圓,要練到屁股能夠穩定的坐在坐墊上為止.

3.初學者開始練習騎車手要建立固定的騎車習慣與正確的騎車姿勢,不要一開始
就想要跟上老手的節奏,應該用八成體力來練車,想要跟上別人只會讓你的乳酸
提早堆積,你需要的是用二三個月來建立身體的有氧機制,提早讓自己爆缸只會
讓你的身體更累,並且打擊自己的信心.

4.再重申一次,培養騎車樂趣,建立耐力基礎,學習正確騎乘姿勢,打好基礎準備迎接
中級班的課程.

B.車齡超過一年的人:
1.你的騎車姿勢大致底定,你也知道踩迴轉是怎麼一回事,你有一定的心肺功能,
你勉強可以跟上車隊好手,但往往在關鍵時刻就被甩開,你很努力也很用心騎車,
但不知為甚麼就是無法進步,但你心理又渴望像別人一樣強.
如果你符合上述的情況,請準備進入中級班的訓練.

2.每週累積騎乘里乘數至少250公里,內容分配參考前面.

3.每次出門騎車,剛開始5~10公里為熱身階段,前面一樣使用39小盤.

4.過了熱身階段開始利用地形練習坐姿爬坡,站姿爬坡,握下把抽車爬坡,以及平路
壓低身體減少風阻的騎車姿勢.
這些項目注重在姿勢與技巧,不要要求強度,姿勢正確又要求強度是屬於高級班
的課程,請不要好高騖遠.

5.週一~週五是你閉門練功的時段,週六是驗收成果的機會,利用這個機會向車隊高
手請教,甚至在某些路段向他們討教幾招,看看自己跟他們的差距是否又拉近?

6.這個階段是轉型變大人的重要時刻,每一項基本功學的越紮實,將來你的騎車風
格會更全面化,各種路況都難不倒你,你幾乎沒有罩門,想擊敗你除非你的車爆胎.
因此你要更全心全意的明白每一個動作發力的原理,並學習能做出每一個動作.

7.偶而有機會參加一下比賽,感受一下高手是如何騎車?從中吸收比賽經驗,而不再
是出發後沒多久,目送別人的屁股離去.

8.這個階段的隊員在熟悉各種姿勢騎車的方法後,開始要增加一些強度,讓你變的
強壯,準備接受高級班的訓練.

想騎的更遠更快,沒有捷徑,更別妄想吃藥,沒有甚麼武功密集,上網到處可以找到
資料,有心勤練是不二法門,或許以往你已經很強了,那是週遭沒人比你強,現在你
來到這裡,發現好像每個人都很厲害,其實每個人剛開始都一樣,但是他們為何變
成如此?道理很簡單,因為有心.


初學者建議從前39配後21開始練習
找一段平路5~10公里來練習
轉速目標訂為100 轉/分 時速約 25 km/hr (高手可以踩到 30 km/hr)
剛開始練習時,重點放在踩踏是否圓順?
即使速度有了以後,不要隨便降檔重踩,觀察當轉速拉高到110以上時,屁股是否會上下跳動
持續練習兩週後,開始改為前39後23,重複上述的動作,看看是否有辦法在平地上持續20~25km/hr 的速度
這是個很無聊枯燥的練習,最好找一堆人來一起練,互相激勵吧
要成為一個好手,是要能夠挺的住孤寂的訓練課程的

如果是練轉速時,才需要參考我之前所說的方法
你可以自己先試一下用39/21維持時速 25km/hr 3 分鐘
再用39/23維持時速 25km/hr 3分鐘
萬一還是覺得很輕鬆
再用39/25維持時速 25km/hr 3分鐘

請問,試著練習踩踏轉圓,踏速90轉以上,但身體無法不上下跳,請問有何方法可以達成不跳呢?

(1)把你的車座降低2-3mm,以減少在高轉速時身體產生的彈跳傾
向(譯註:很多人可能都有這個感覺,在高轉速時,身體上下跳動,
好像坐 在彈簧上一樣)。以後可以逐漸將車座調回到正確的高度。

(2)將注意力集中在拉動踏板滑過最低點以消除蹬踏死點。(譯
註:我個人的感覺是,使用自鎖要更專注於水平方向的用力,即「拖
,拉」, 而不是垂直方向的「踏,提」)(對岸的自鎖就是台灣講的
卡踏)

(3)用一個帶踏頻的碼表(譯註:如Sigma BC1600)來做為生理
上的反饋,循序漸進的提高轉速,每次你要在這個轉速下能夠舒舒服
服地騎5 分鐘。

(4)每次騎行花幾分鐘時間用高轉速蹬踏,熱身時的最後5分鐘是
最佳時間。為了更好的蹬踏,要使腳踏在最高點和最低點的過渡非常平滑。

職業車手:Greg LeMond

秘訣:你有可能曾經被告知要用腿筋來提起踏板。別這樣做!而是
當踏板位於最低點時,你應該著重於將踏板往後拉,就好像你在擦掉
粘在鞋 底上的泥巴。

你能做些什麼呢?

大多數車手都將LeMond的蹬踏技巧指點——擦掉粘在鞋底上的泥巴
牢牢記在腦中,許多文章中也反反覆覆提到這一技巧。

經常被人忽略的是LeMond關於蹬踏技巧的第二部分——朝著車把推
動膝蓋。實際上,這條建議對大部分車手來說更為有效。比起在最低
點向後 拖動踏板的動作,用力將膝蓋推向車把方向更容易讓人理解


1.呼吸很喘,但腳不會酸.
2.呼吸還OK,但腳很酸.
3.呼吸又喘腳又酸.

第一種情形最容易發生在轉速高的輕踩的時候.
第二種情形通常會在平路的逆風,或是降檔重踩時,以及爬坡低轉速的重踩.
第三種不用說就是在比賽是無論平路或爬坡的攻擊或是追及上.
